Climathon Kraków 2026: From Food Waste to Opportunity How can we turn food waste into opportunities for a more sustainable food system in Kraków? Every day, food is wasted at different stages of the food system: from production and distribution to shops, restaurants and households. Yet much of this food, and the resources behind it, could be put to better use. Join us for Climathon Kraków 2026, a hands-on innovation event where we'll work together to develop entrepreneurial ideas for tackling food waste in our city. Climathon, developed by Climate KIC, is a global movement that brings people together to address local climate challenges through collaboration, innovation and climate action. This edition invites you to look at Kraków's food system and imagine practical ways to make it less wasteful. Gamification Global is hosting a Climathon in Kraków for the second time, this time in partnership with Jadalny Kraków and Kraków Municipal Greenspace Authority. We'll begin by playing The Good Ventures, a card game that introduces regenerative business thinking and gets us into the mindset of creating ventures that generate positive social and environmental impact. Then we'll turn our attention to the challenge. Working individually and in teams, you'll brainstorm ideas, develop promising ones into project concepts, exchange feedback with other participants and refine your proposals into actionable drafts. What could those ideas look like? Perhaps new ways to connect local food producers with consumers, make short food supply chains more viable, prevent surplus food from going to waste, improve food redistribution, or create new services and business models. We're open to ideas from across the food system. The event will conclude with short presentations of the concepts developed during the afternoon. You don't need to arrive with a business idea, a background in entrepreneurship or specialist knowledge of the food industry. What matters is your curiosity, creativity and willingness to work with others on a real-world challenge. Come with an open mind. Leave with an idea worth exploring. No previous experience is required. Participation is free of charge, but registration is mandatory.
